The original Crafty is a premium vaporizer, however, the Crafty + surpasses it. The vapor is incredible, tasty and powerful, with very little effort. It uses the patented Storz & Bickel hybrid heating system to fully extract the essence of your herbs. As for battery life, you'll be able to smoke for a night on a single charge (six charges and 40 minutes of run time on a full charge). It's fully customizable when combined with the smartphone app, but has enough built-in control to work out of the box, without any adjustments.

The visible changes from Crafty to Crafty+ are subtle, but enough to set them apart. The logos are still in the same places, but each has changed slightly, and the radiator-style fins are now curved and less frequent. Significant improvements are to the internal parts and make Crafty+ more durable and reliable. What hasn't changed is the top steam.

Crafty+ now reaches temperature noticeably faster than its predecessor (taking about 1 minute). This means that the heating technology and circuits have been greatly improved.

Improvements in the temperature selection of the Crafty +

One big complaint people had about the original Crafty vaporizer was that full temperature control can only be obtained through the iOS/Android app. Although this issue has not been resolved, an improvement was made and you now have three presets to choose from.

The first two settings can be programmed in the app, while the third will always go to the higher end of the temperature spectrum, capped at 210°C/410°F. This is actually quite important, as most We only use a couple of temperature settings.

Crafty+ build quality

The PEEK body is an excellent choice and we can understand why it has been retained. While an aluminum or alloy body would be nice, how light and durable the existing body is makes it difficult to upgrade. It has excellent cooling and great durability. Not to mention the medical certification that the device has. Storz & Bickel is known for its excellent customer service and good quality of its products.

In addition to the device itself, the box includes a charger, a dosing capsule, O-rings and replacement screens and a charging cable. They used to include a cleaning brush, grinder and loading funnel with the previous model which are not included in this new one.

Storz & Bickel Crafty + cleaning tips

• Use isopropyl alcohol of more than 90% purity.
• Use cotton swabs soaked in alcohol to reach the most difficult places.
• Do a deep cleaning every 10 sessions.
• Clean the bowl every few sessions.
• Let the cooling unit soak in alcohol for ~10 minutes and spin. Remove the O-rings before doing this.

Portability and Size

The Crafty + has almost the same portability as the previous one. It's still pretty small, very durable, and surprisingly light. You can carry it in almost any pocket or bag and have the peace of mind knowing that it will not break or get damaged during transport. It is a perfect portable vaporizer for someone who is doing all kinds of adventures: hiking, skiing or sophing.

It is certainly one of the best portable herbal vaporizers and we recommend it if you are out and about frequently. The addition of dosing capsules makes refilling and refilling super seamless. It is definitely the best choice for people on the go who don't want to bother with recharging a camera so much.

It's quite discreet with its matte black finish and hides well in your hand, but be aware of the considerable amount of odor it will emit! Although dried herb vapors smell much less than smoking, in an enclosed space or large room, a minute after your session, it will smell quite a bit.

Crafty+ battery life

The new Crafty+ has much better battery life than the original. While it is not removable you now have around 5-9 sessions per charge. This is almost double what the original got. The new circuits and heating mode make it possible in this new model. Battery life will vary depending on your usage habits.

How to use the Crafty+ portable vaporizer

The operating mode is the same as the original model. A single single button responsible for turning the device on, off and adjusting the temperature. Storz & Bickel always has the user experience in mind and Crafty+ is definitely easy to use. Operated with a single button, easy to load, dosing capsule system and super easy to extract, Crafty + offers first-class performance every time.

The new Crafty+ technically now has three temperature settings to choose from: two programmable in the app and one that will reach maximum temperature with a quick triple press.

Loading the chamber with a nice load of a medium-finely ground herb or a full dosing capsule is very easy and then you just have to wait for it to warm up before taking a hit.

As we mentioned above, the Crafty+ now has three temperature settings that you can toggle between. The smartphone app allows you to choose any temperature between 104-410°F, which translates to 40-210°C.

Two settings can be programmed for any of these and stored locally on the device. The third setting is locked at the maximum temperature.

The first temperature is set to 180°C and is reached by pressing the power button once. By pressing the button twice, the CRAFTY + will heat up to the Boost temperature of 195°C. The new Super-Boost function will allow you to reach the maximum temperature of 210 °C by pressing the power button three times. The Super Boost solves the problem with the previous Crafty vaporizer's two-temperature setup.

 

Smartphone Remote Control

You'll get the most out of your Crafty+ using the smartphone app. The application offers you the following options:

Vapor quality

The Crafty is one of the best dry herb vaporizers with better vapor quality and Crafty + we can say that it improves thanks to the new heating technology.

Heating is still by conduction and convection, but the heater seems to hold up much better, with strong pulls, and provides a little more "oomph" than before. The taste is still excellent.

The Crafty+ tastes pretty good, smooth thanks to the cooling unit and effortlessly releases powerful vapor clouds.

With the additional drop pad, the filling chamber with a volume of 1,4 cm³ can be used for herbs or liquids. The cooling unit with replaceable mouthpiece ensures the creation of optimal vapor and aroma.
