HY2000 water chiller Teco for tanks with a capacity of up to 2000 liters at a water temperature of 25ºC and ambient temperature of 30ºC, it is ideal for Hydroponics, Aquaponics and Aeroponics.
It is equipped with high-performance compressors, and the coaxial heat exchanger is made of titanium, which improves the durability of the water conditioning system.
The HY2000 water chiller is compact and highly durable, making it ideal for grow rooms with limited space. It includes rust protection for increased durability.
The high quality of the components made in Italy allows a high level of performance, improving energy savings with a very low noise level.
Teco water chiller systems HY150 HY500, HY1000, HY2000 include an easy-to-use, highly accurate digital thermostat.
The resolution is 0,1°C. And the adjustment range is 5°C to 35°C (41°F – 95°F).
The temperature is maintained at a preset temperature differential of 0.5°C/1°F. It can be configured to display the temperature in °C or °F, and alarms can also be set.
Two important considerations to keep in mind when installing a water chiller in your grow room are:
- The installation of a pre-filter or external filter to retain impurities and solid debris that may reach the appliance inlet.
- And the installation of a water pump, with the same flow rate as the water cooler.
Please note that TECO hydroponic chillers (HY series) are not suitable for seawater.
As for its connection, it couldn't be simpler. The water inlet fits perfectly with any 16mm irrigation tube, so we won't have any problems.

Hydroponics is an agricultural technique that consists of growing plants without soil, using solutions rich in nutrients dissolved in water. Although this technique has been present for thousands of years, it has recently received great attention because if the right conditions are met, hydroponics allows for more abundant, faster and healthier harvests than any other cultivation method, while preserving the environment.
In hydroponics, the temperature of the water and its oxygen content are strictly related. To grow, plant roots need a high flow of oxygen and water retains the greatest amount of oxygen at low temperatures. If temperatures exceed 25°C, dissolved oxygen levels decrease; the roots are no longer able to function efficiently and lead to general wilting; Infestations by insects, fungi and diseases appear. leading to the problems mentioned above.
In most hydroponic systems, the ideal water temperature is between 18°C and 22°C to ensure maximum efficiency and protection from pathogens. HY2000 water chiller operation
- The water cooler for irrigation tanks or aquariums acts as a small freezer. By passing the water through the cooling circuit, the temperature drops and returns to the tank much cooler.
- Technically it is a system very similar to that of domestic air conditioning. The internal compressor compresses the refrigerant gas and sends it through ducts to the heat converter. The compressed gas liquefies and lowers the temperature of everything that comes into contact with it.
- The liquid vapor is sent to the exchanger where a circuit of tubes with cold gas are interspersed with a circuit of tubes with the water that we are going to cool. This step is where the water is cooled and the gas is heated again.
- Through this process, the water is always channeled so it is neither contaminated nor evaporated.
- Good quality water chillers include a digital thermostat to program the desired temperature so that the compressor operates only when the water degrees are above those programmed.
