Description

Perlite from Plagron is expanded perlite of superior quality and especially indicated for improving the structure of growing substrates. Perlite is a volcanic glass that appears naturally in the Earth's crust and has a very high water content, which means that when it is subjected to a temperature between 850-900 °C, as this water trapped in its evaporates, interior, allows you to multiply its volume from 7 to 16 times, with a varied size and pearly white color that make it so unmistakable. It also has a very low density and a relatively low price, making it ideal for enriching any substrate, as we can see from the best on the market.

Perlite is also ideal for use in hydroponic crops, where the roots find a medium in which to develop in the best way. Although it comes ready for use, we recommend rinsing it with water to eliminate the dust that is created by rubbing itself, which is very important especially in hydroponic crops since it can clog irrigation systems.

The more perlite a substrate has, the better it will absorb water and the longer it will take the plant to use up its reserves. Cultivation in hot seasons is also easier, as it retains liquids very easily, which it will release slowly, in addition to promoting oxygenation of the roots.

Expanded perlite is an inert, stable, neutral (pH between 6,5 and 7), sterile, light and insulating mineral product.

Its qualities at an agronomic level are:

  • Great capacity to receive and retain water and fertilizers.
  • Facilitates aeration.
  • Sponge the soil.
  • It does a good job of drainage.
  • Stimulates initial rooting and vigorous plant growth.

Perlite can be used to mix with other substrates or to use in recirculated hydroponic cultures and lost solution hydroponic cultures.

Available sizes: 10L / 60L / Perlite Pallet 60L (39 pcs.)
