Clipper is the brand name of a type of butane gas lighter designed by Bryant and May, a company established in the United Kingdom. They began to be manufactured in 1972 and it is estimated that currently about 200 million units are produced per year. Most are produced in Spain.

Clipper lighters are common among lighter collectors, because there are different sizes, designs and series, especially aimed at young people judging by the themes chosen for their decoration.

Clipper's nylon tank holds twice as much gas as an economy lighter. Since it is not disposable, its life is unlimited. It can be recharged with gas and stone. It costs 90% less to recharge a lighter than to buy a new one.
